Excerpt: Dilated pupils, accelerated breathing, racing pulse, trembling, Kiara had the telltale signs of terror. I kept my thumb on her pulse point as I regarded her. She finally raised her gaze to mine, and her pulse sped up further. Her body’s reactions could have been a sign for arousal as well, but I knew they weren’t. “So you didn’t agree to marry me,” I pointed out.

Her cheeks flushed, and her gaze returned to my chin. “I did agree when Luca asked me, but my uncle never asked when he made the offer.”

“Why did you agree when Luca asked, then?”

Her brows drew together. “Because it wasn’t really a choice; it was disguised as one. In this life women aren’t given choices.”

I regarded her for a few moments. She seemed angry. Her anger suited me better than the submissive terror she’d displayed before. I lifted her hand, and she tensed again as if she’d forgotten about my touch. Her pulse raced against my fingertips. I showed her the ring. “I won’t tell you that you have a choice to accept this or not. We both know you will accept it like you will say yes in two days.”

She blanched and gave a small nod. “Otherwise there won’t be peace.”

“Indeed.”

“You will be my wife,” I told her. Whatever she’d heard about my brothers and me, and what was going on in Vegas, she didn’t have to fear that kind of thing. Her fingers shook as I put the engagement ring on. The jeweler had recommended it after I told her money wasn’t an issue. A simple gold band with a big diamond in the middle. I never understood the reason for engagement rings. She swallowed again, and I realized it was to contain some of her terror. “You realize this isn’t a death sentence.” Dark brown eyes rose to meet mine. “Death isn’t the worst that can happen.”

Cora Reilly sucked me in a few years ago with Bound by Honor. I had never read a mafia romance before, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with this trope. I've become so particular with these particular stories. And Cora Reilly has definitely set the bar high.

 With Twisted Emotions - She's done it yet again. NO ONE does arranged marriage mafia novels like her. Cora's characters always draw you in. Nino and Kiara are no different. An alpha hero that you just cant help but becoming obsessed with. An incredibly strong heroine that has your heart aching. Their story.. WOW. The ANGST has your tummy aching with all the butterflies. The FEELS. You're laughing and crying. You're mad and happy. 

 Its hard to put into words just how good this book was. I stalk Cora Reilly for EVERY book she has. She's one of my go to authors - I automatically preorder and buy her books as soon as I see a new one is coming out. Her books are always phenomenal. Well written and amazing. You really should read Twisted Emotions (Go read Twisted Loyalties, first. You dont HAVE to, but it would definitely make more sense if you did.) While you're there - check out all the rest of her books. Another FANTASTIC book. One you NEED to read.
