Often times as an avid reader, you find an author who picks you up from
your life - and drops you right down in the middle of an amazing story -
You're drawn to each and every book that they've ever written. My love
affair with Ashley Jade began with the Blame It On The Shame series.
That series was so life changing for me, I immediately had to have every
single Ashley Jade book written. She quickly became one of my favorite
authors, and Im not ashamed to admit I stalk her like crazy - eager for
ALL THE WORDS she has to offer.
From her first, to her latest masterpiece - EVERY book has gotten better and better. Her style of writing is perfect. She gives you just enough details that you can imagine everything around you - without wasting any time or space. These characters are so well thought out - so complex with so many details - you cant help but fall in love with each and every one of them even if they drive you crazy.
Landon, Asher and Breslin (And Kit! We all need a Kit) are the types of characters that you just wish were real. I love each of them and every one of their flaws. Each one brings a tug at your heartstrings that has you feeling so emotional, and so conflicted - you're scared. Lets face it. Im not shy about being a baby.. and I'm STILL crying. Ugly girl, WTF - where's the tissues I need book 2 NOW crying. My tummy is in knots, my emotions are all over the place! Ashley Jade has brought out ALL the feels - and has wrecked me all over again, in ALL the good ways.
This book is not for everyone. The subject matter (MM, MMF, MF) is not necessarily one that everyone will enjoy or appreciate. But the way this story is brought to life? I really truly feel that even if you're a little curious - Give this book a try. Because really, Ashley Jade did this book, this story, this TYPE of romance - justice.
I'm so proud of Ashley for bringing this story to us. It's different, unconventional, and will have you glued to your screen, unable to stop because you just NEED to know what happens next. And that ending? That ending had me screaming - because we need book 2! She made MY heart all "complicated" and I need more!
I couldn't recommend this book more. If I could give it more than 5 stars, that'd be what it would get. Complicated Hearts will take you on an emotional journey that has your heart pounding, your tummy clenching, and your thighs squeezing. I loved this book so much. Thank you, Ashley.. thank you for being so brave and amazing and writing a phenomenal story.
