Kennedy Fox is the type of writing duo that just grabs you by the heart and pulls you through the story like no other.  Part of the Checkmate Duet Series - This is book 1 of Logan and Kayla's story.  You could already sense their intense chemistry when we first see them together in Drew and Courtney's story.  It's like watching magnets being drawn together - you just KNEW these two would end up with some amazing sparks and huge fireworks. 
This book mixes 2 of my favorite tropes - second chance and friends to lovers. Logan - an intense man, with intense feelings and an amazing father. Kayla - the sweetest woman with a love affair for dogs and donuts. (I admit, I ate a few in honor of them!).  Their chemistry, the angst, the push and pull. I caught myself wanting to scream a few times..Because I felt it all! My heart raced, I got butterflies in my tummy. I laughed, I cried. It was everything... And you're left with an ending that just has you screaming for book 2.  Highly recommended read. I LOVED it. Kennedy Fox is amazing and I cant wait for This is Beautiful.
