Seriously, I couldn't stop once I started, and a few hours later..I'm screaming for book 2. We're pulled in to witness Drew and Courtney - best friends and roommates - fall in love. What could possibly go wrong, right?
This book is so well written, it's easy to fall into the story. Page by page, you're eager for more. We were briefly introduced to our main characters in Checkmate Duet 1 & 2 - Travis and Viola. Drew is Viola's brother and Travis' best friend. Courtney is Viola's best friend and Travis' employee. Got it? Okay good. 😁 (You dont NEED to read 1 & 2 - but you should. Cuz.. Kennedy Fox.)
Drew is the good guy - the guy you really would love to be your boyfriend. Sexy, tattooed..Cop.. (Those handcuffs, tho!). His sister (Viola, from the Checkmate: Courtney is your typical southern girl. She's sassy, smart and can shoot a gun as good as the next guy. They've formed a friendship that includes football, beer, and just being "one of the guys" as they formed a bond over the years being roommates. Only, that's the problem. Courtney has been in love with Drew the whole time..And Drew .. Well. He's been blinded by the rocky relationship he was stuck in all that time.
But let me say..when his eyes are open..They're WIDE open. And it just makes your heart melt. Im talking, your tummy get sore because you have those nervous butterflies..You feel just what Courtney was feeling.
